Barcelona, Spain, June 15, 2010: VMS, the worldwide leader in integrated media intelligence solutions, today unveiled the latest module of its next generation InSight platform – the market-leading, web-based media monitoring and management solution – at the 2nd European Summit on Measurement at the Hotel Meliá Barcelona.
The Summit is being coordinated by the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) -- the global trade body and professional institute for agencies and practitioners who provide media evaluation and communication research.
Peter Wengryn, CEO of VMS, will be addressing the Association members during the Summit on the broad topic of media measurement and analysis. Angie Jeffrey, VP of Integrated Media Intelligence at VMS, will also be participating in a panel describing how VMS and is supporting a major, global company with its array of offerings driven by its measurement solutions.
This latest release of VMS InSight platform provides users with unique data mining and visualization tools, and enhanced content search features, that will ensure they can easily and efficiently manage, analyze, and understand data from all media types VMS delivers – television, radio, Internet, web print, social media and web video -- in near-real time.
“The proliferation of new media in concert with traditional media can result in millions of mentions in the news for some companies – certainly when they are in a crisis,” noted Wengryn. “With the state-of-the-art services we are delivering in this release of InSight, users will be able to sort though mountains of data in seconds across all media, and, using our tools, identify what is important and relevant to them.”
The key data mining and content visualization tools included in this release of InSight are:
Summary Dashboard: A customer-defined portal that offers an “at a glance” view of real-time coverage, including key metrics and sentiment, across all media types, helping users quickly identify where they need to focus their PR activities.
Bubble Chart: The volume of phrases or words in select documents, and their relation to each other, are displayed in a group of circles of various sizes and proximity. This will help users quickly identify important themes, and their similarity to one another.
Sentiment Bubble Chart: This tool adds a view of specific content based on the sentiment of a cluster of words or phrases. Bubbles containing content with a positive overall sentiment are green, and those containing a negative overall sentiment are red.
Vibe Chart: Using a stacked bar chart format, the volume of positive, negative and neutral phrases or “vibes” within a document or documents are displayed. This will help users identify hot spots in their coverage and react appropriately.
Sentiment Chart: This chart maps the overall sentiment per document scores for a selected article set. This charts maps the idea cloud as a bar chart, and adds sentiment scores to the chart.
The InSight platform also includes the following capabilities announced recently:
Conceptual Search: A capability unique to VMS where users can easily search for “related concepts” to what they are already searching, uncovering consumer sentiment, highlighting emerging trends, and quickly focusing on key issues they might not have been aware of otherwise.
Idea Cloud: The “Idea Cloud” analyzes media coverage to reveal key topics and related items, from a potentially unlimited number of articles or clips, and displays them in a “cloud” of words or phrases.
Cluster Chart: A cluster is a group of documents that are similar based on the “concepts” contained in each document. Clustering allows user to automatically identify important themes or information groupings from large sets of data.
Heat Map: The “Heat Map” presents the combination of the amount of the coverage and the sentiment or “tone” of that coverage.
Spectrograph: This is a virtual timeline that will let users see how coverage of a story changes, and how concepts develop they can adjust their media plans in real time.
